Paul Dornau

Paul Dornau is a musician (B.Mus./Dip.Jazz), composer, teacher (B.Teach.) and visual artist. His expertise
includes music theatre and dance accompaniment, film soundtracks and installation soundscapes. During and after
his composition degree at the VCA, Paul has written for a wide variety of formats including 2 orchestral pieces
(performed), a large body of chamber pieces as well as a significant amount of songwriting and arranging for
Croque Monsieur and Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies. As a performer, Paul has performed as a sound
and physical artist with the Melbourne-based group Tape Projects including 3 live performances during
2006-9 and 2 public installation pieces (Scratch and Arab Telephone); he has conceptualized and performed
for the surrealist theatre group Tek Tek Corporation and has performed extensively around Australia
in the six-piece musical act Croque Monsieur as well as the experimental garage/surf outfit,
Johnnie and the Johnnie-Johnnies. Paul has recently undertaken a Primary education degree
at Melbourne University that specialized in teaching music to children.
